My Super Ex-Girlfriend

The title itself is a giveaway, but I still watched it with my movie-addict partner. You see, the story is about a regular guy, Matt Saunders (Luke Wilson) breaking up with his not-so-regular-superhero girlfriend Jenny Johnson/ G-Girl (Uma Thurman). Ever since they broke up, she’s been tormenting him. The famous line “You broke my heart. Now, I’m going to break your everything” was what Jenny did. Literally. From giving him a shark to stealing his car and throwing it into outerspace, Jenny did all of that just to get even with Matt. The ending? It was nice. Can’t say further because I might spoil the fun. *wink*

The verdict: Well, since the storyline is simple and doesn’t require you to contemplate after watching it, the movie was a good laugh. Luke Wilson is a natural when it comes to romantic comedies just like his brother, Owen Wilson. The movie also allowed you to see the human side of superheroes. Uma Thurman..well..she’s Uma Thurman. She was good in the movie, portraying a needy, lunatic girlfriend who has a big secret which eventually she shared to her other half. If you guys want a good laugh, well watch it. Guys, you might have second thoughts on breaking up with your girls.

Come to think of it, if all ex-girlfriends have super powers, boys who made them cry better watch out. Payback’s a bitch. Literally. *wink*

  1. The movie was quite interesting. But on my side, the last part (Matt Saunder’s true love became a super hero too) spoiled everything; it took off the spotlight to the super ex girlfriend. But even with that, I can still say that its an interesting movie to watch.. far better than the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.. hahaha

But the catch there was the clumsy cheese popcorn monster that is watching the movie with me. Still want some? lol..
